Civil Society Forum 2018

FES New York co-hosted this year’s Civil Society Forum to bring together UN officials, CSOs and activists from across the globe to discuss how we can move toward successfully implementing policies to eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable and resilient societies.

By organizing the Civil Society Forum 2018, the NGO Committee on Social Development, the 56th Commission for Social Development and FES New York continued a valuable tradition. Since its launch in 2006, the Civil Society Forum serves as an important platform for orientation, discussion and collaboration between NGOs across the globe. One major objective of the forum is to incorporate the claims of Civil Society in the work of the UN Commission for Social Development (CSocD).

The main focus this year was to promote social protection and development under a comprehensive strategy on how to eradicate poverty and achieve social development for all.
